BODYBUILDING EXPERIENCE

Super-Heavyweight Bodybuilder

In my 30+ years of bodybuilding, I went from a scrawny 135-pound wrestler to peaking out at 300 pounds of muscle! When I started they didn't have Men's Physique or Classic back then and this was before the internet so I'm classically trained at university in nutrition and exercise science.

In those days it was lots of trial and error...Error, mostly! I now know lots of ways that do NOT work and can save you the time! Also, I have demonstrated how to maintain your health and muscle mass well into your 40s and beyond!

MILITARY EXPERIENCE

Combat Veteran

My competition time was limited as I deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In addition to being the Unit Fitness Monitor I specialized in Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, and Conventional Warfare Defense (NBC/CBRNE) and Emergency Management for the US Air Force. That's also where I developed my hearing disability that I still deal with. I learned how to balance insane work schedules and navigate military dining facilities with my bodybuilding lifestyle.

Competition Experience

Former Chairman & Promoter

I set the record as the "youngest ever" NPC District Chairman when I served the state of Utah at age 24 from 2003-2004. I also promoted both the NPC Utah Cup and NPC Natural Utah Cup bodybuilding championship shows.

As part of my duties, I would promote shows and introduce the sport of bodybuilding to athletes all over the state. I also conducted posing seminars and clinics helping hundreds of competitors learn, grow, and improve.

Back in 2007 I coached my first client to his first bodybuilding competition win.

LIVED EXPERIENCE

Fan of Bodybuilding

I have been working in and around the sport of bodybuilding for a LONG time and I have had the privilege of meeting and collaborating with absolute legends, many of whom are sadly no longer with us. I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly up close and in-person - that experience helps me make better decisions today.

Business Experience

Sponsor & Exhibitor

As co-founder of Buffery-Flex Uniforms, an apparel company designed for bodybuilders, I sponsor and exhibit at the largest bodybuilding events in the world such as the Arnold Classic, Mr. Olympia, Masters Nationals, and Pittsburgh Pro. Team Biff Coaching members are the first to be sponsored athletes or selected as models for the expos.

REALITY TV EXPERIENCE

Man in Town

Even outside bodybuilding I'm a familiar face. In 2016 I had the opportunity to document our move to Rochester, NY for HGTV's long-running television series "House Hunters." We were featured on Season 126, Episode 1 and you can watch it here...
